Trauma Informed Practices Survey
Trauma can have a significant impact on ākonga learning and development. Students who have experienced trauma may struggle with emotional regulation, have difficulty forming positive relationships and friendships, and may exhibit challenging behaviours or dissociate (withdraw) from others.
Trauma-informed practice is an approach that recognises the impact of trauma and seeks to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all ākonga. This approach emphasises the importance of building strong relationships with students, creating a sense of safety and predictability, and prioritising emotional regulation and self-care.
As RTLB, it is crucial to understand how trauma affects ākonga and how we can best support them. In order to identify ways in which we can support your practice we would love to hear from you. We are keen to identify how we can help and would appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete our survey.
Due date: Monday 9th June
All respondents will go in the draw to select a book from our curated list, with 5 lucky winners. Additionally, the Cluster with the highest response rate (% of cluster) will also receive a book of their choice from our fabulous selection.
