Kia ora RTLB colleagues,

I'm looking for RTLB who would be willing to contribute to my Term 4 sabbatical research.

Sabbatical title: Culturally Responsive Use of the CPS Model to Support Māori Ākonga with Learning Needs and High Absenteeism

My sabbatical will explore whether and how the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model can be used in a culturally responsive way to support Māori ākonga with additional learning needs who are experiencing high absenteeism.

I'm seeking RTLB who would be willing to:

• complete a short survey, and/or

CPS continues to grow in West Auckland as more and more schools, senior school leaders, and teachers are using the strategies with their ākonga.

Phillip Fox, one of our RTLBs is now a Certified Provider, having completed the training. Well done Phil!!

He was recently invited to attend a Senior Leadership Team meeting in one of our Primary Schools to talk about CPS. They heard about this through the SENCo/LSC network and became interested. There is now a follow-up meeting next term to begin demonstrating and training the school in CPS.

This term, Margaret Samson (also completed training as Certified Provider), the Principal of one of our schools organised a Community of Practice meeting which was attended by about 12 CPS practitioners.
