About the event

Following on from our first Te Whare o Oro Ohu, this Term 3 session will move deeper into the practical application of Te Whare o Oro within He Pikorua.

This session will focus on Kohikohi and Āta Whakaaro — how we use the four Pou to notice, gather, listen and make meaning before moving into planning and action.

Together we will explore how Te Whare o Oro can support observation, mokopuna voice, whānau and kaiako voice, and deeper sense-making in RTLB practice.

We will use case examples, breakout kōrero and practical tools to help participants consider how the Pou can shift our practice from deficit-based interpretations of behaviour toward mana-enhancing, culturally grounded understanding.

This Ohu is part of the wider development of Te Ara Pōwhiri ki Te Whare o Oro, a shared pathway that weaves Te Whare o Oro through He Pikorua.
