About
This professional learning program equips teachers and support staff to create safer, more inclusive school environments for ākonga affected by stress, adversity, or trauma. Grounded in whanaungatanga, culturally responsive practice, and a strengths-based lens, it explains how trauma can affect learning, behaviour, relationships, and wellbeing without defining learners by their experiences. Staff will develop practical strategies for everyday interactions, co-regulation, classroom routines, collaborative support planning, and restorative responses. By the end, participants can apply trauma-informed practice consistently while helping build resilient, connected school communities.
