Trauma-Informed Practice for RTLB

This professional learning program supports Resource Teachers: Learning and Behaviour to apply trauma-informed, strengths-based practice in Aotearoa schools. It covers the principles of trauma-informed care, culturally responsive and inclusive approaches, practical strategies for supporting learners, and ways to work alongside whānau, school teams, and specialist services. Participants will learn to recognise how adversity can affect learning and behaviour without making assumptions or diagnoses, build safer and more predictable environments, and contribute to a collaborative RTLB network that shares effective practice across New Zealand.
