Red Shoes Rock

September is coming. September is FASD Awareness Month in 2025. The month is dedicated to raising awareness about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) and the importance of alcohol-free pregnancies. International FASD Awareness Day is on September 9th, which signifies the nine months of pregnancy when alcohol should be avoided. With 1 in 7 pregnancies exposed prenatally to alcohol and 1 in 20 people impacted, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder is everybody’s issue. Let’s wear our red shoes, listen to those living with this brain based difference, educate, use a strength based approach, provide the supports and accommodations needed for our loved ones to live a good life! #redshoesrock #fasd #fasdawareness #fasdsupport #fasdaccommodations #brainbaseddifferences #neurodiversity

FASD can bring real challenges, from learning differences to sensory sensitivities. At the same time, individuals with FASD often show creativity, empathy and unique strengths. Learn more about supporting those with FASD at proofalliance.org.
